libavdevice55 software package provides Libav device handling library, you can install in your Debian 8 (Jessie) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install libavdevice55
libavdevice55 is installed in your system.
Make ensure the libavdevice55 package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep libavdevice55 *
You will get with libavdevice55 package name, version, architecture and description in a table
